N.T & R.H
We are committed to providing quality healthcare services to our community.
Nanyuki Teaching and Referral Hospital (NTRH) is a Level 4 facility located along Laikipia–Rumuruti Road in Nanyuki town, Laikipia County, Kenya. Established in the 1930s as a small native dispensary, the hospital has grown significantly over the decades, attaining Teaching and Referral status in July 2012. Today, NTRH is the largest healthcare institution in the county, serving as a critical referral center for Laikipia and neighboring regions. The hospital has a bed capacity of 319 [179 in general wards, 20 in Critical Care Unit (14 HDU and 6 CCU)]. A modern Mother and Child (M&C) block adds at least an additional 100-bed for maternity and amenity wards. This set the main hospital bed capacity to 319, a threshold necessary for upgrade to a Level 5. The hospital offers 24hrs wide range of services including outpatient and inpatient care, maternal and child health, emergency services, laboratory, radiology, dialysis, and specialist clinics. The facility also hosts an advanced cancer screening and treatment clinic, a modern maternity wing, and an automated laundry unit to support clinical operations. Through partnerships such as the Dharura emergency care initiative and Laikipia County’s Universal Health Coverage program, NTRH continues to expand access to quality, affordable healthcare for thousands of residents, treating over 50,000 patients every quarter.
